Biography

Steve Chadban is a clinician scientist with interests in transplant immunology, immunosuppressive drugs and outcomes after transplantation, including diabetes and CVD. He is a busy clinician and Director of Renal Medicine and Transplantation at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Clinical Professor at University of Sydney, Australia. He has published over 200 papers, is President of TSANZ and a Councillor of the TTS.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease after kidney transplantation
  • Understand the rationale for screening for CAD prior to transplantation, but also the limitations and evidence gaps
  • Review the risk factors for CVD post-transplant and consider how best to intervene to reduce risk
