Her academic work centers on improving access to transplantation, with a sustained focus on gender disparities, health systems, and innovative approaches to expanding transplant pathways in resource-constrained settings. She is the recipient of the Women in Transplantation (WIT) Grant for research on sex and gender in transplantation in LMIC (2025-2027), leading a project focused on developing digital tools to improve equitable access to kidney transplantation for women. Her research has been recognized with multiple national and international awards, including the Best Paper Award at the Indian Society of Transplantation (ISOT), the ISODP Congress Award and the TTS-ISOT Mentor-Mentee Award. She actively contributes to multicentric research, national guidelines, and policy discussions in transplantation.

She is currently a member of the Early Career Members Committee of The Transplantation Society and will serve as an Editorial Fellow for Transplantation and Transplantation Direct Journals with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“What keeps me engaged in transplantation is the gap between what we know is possible and what patients actually receive. In day-to-day practice, we see how often access depends on awareness, family decisions, and practical barriers. Much of my work has focused on understanding that gap and trying to reduce it, especially for patients who are often underrepresented.”
