Maricar Malinis, MD, joined the Section of Infectious Diseases faculty in 2013. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Surgery (Transplant) and the Medical Director of Transplant and Oncology Infectious Diseases Program. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Philippines College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and fellowship trainings in Geriatric Medicine , Infectious Diseases, and Transplant Infectious Diseases in the United States. She is an active member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST), the Transplantation Society, and the IDSA.
Romain Gueneau MD, MPH, is an infectious disease fellow at Kremlin-Bicetre, assistance public hopitaux de Paris (APHP), and has a teaching activity at Paris-Saclay medical school. He studied medicine at Burgundy medical school, was medical resident in Grenoble teaching hospital, Necker hospital-APHP, and in french Guyana. He is involved in care and research concerning infections in solid organ transplant and bone-marrow transplant, and is an investigator of study protocols on infectious diseases.

Dr. Nitipong (Nate) Permpalung is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Transplant Infectious Diseases Faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Permpalung received his Medical Degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and his Master of Public Health form Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, USA. Dr. Permpalung completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Bassett Medical Center/Columbia University, then completed his Infectious Diseases and Transplant Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and Duke University, respectively. Dr. Permpalung's research is currently focusing on human pythiosis, respiratory viral infections, fungal diagnostics, and fungal-viral interactions in immunocompromised patients.

Transplant Surgeon
Prof Elmi Muller is a transplant surgeon and the Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare and Medicine at Stellenbosch University. She is an international leader in the healthcare sector and President-Elect of The Transplantation Society (TTS). She holds clinical as well as business qualifications in South Africa and England, as well as a fellowship in the USA. She had been the chair of the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian group, the South African Transplant Society and served on the World Health Organization Transplantation Taskforce. She pioneered a transplant program for HIV positive recipients in South Africa using HIV positive donors. She holds an A1 rating for research with the National Research Foundation of South Africa.
