Dr. Cona is an active member of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), The transplantation Society (TTS) and Transplant Infectious Diseases (TIP). He is a member of two ESCMID study groups: ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Compromised Hosts (ESGICH) and ESCMID Study Group for Antimicrobial Stewardship (ESGAP).
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Palermo with a score of 110/110 cum-laude. He attended the Postgraduate School of Infectious Disease at the University of MIlan where he specialized with Prof. Antonella d’Arminio Monforte. During his university studies, he work as Research Assistant under the supervision of Prof. Evelina Tacconelli in Tubingen, Germany.
He completed a PhD course focused on Clinical Research at the University of Milan.
At ISMETT, he works as ID consultant for liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung transplant programs for children and adults. Over the last years, Dr. Cona research activity has been focused on prevention and management of infections in solid-organ transplant recipients, especially post-transplant viral and multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections.

Priya Kodiyanplakkal, MD is originally from Guam and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City where she is the Associate Program director of their Infectious Disease Fellowship Training Program. Dr. Kodiyanplakkal is also the Co-Chair of the Northeast Transplant ID Society. Dr. Kodiyanplakkal teaching and clinical responsibilities focus on immunocompromised hosts, and she also conducts clinical research focused on viral and fungal infections in transplant recipients.
