Dr. Richards is a double board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist. He is the director of research for the reproductive endocrinology and infertility division at Cleveland Clinic, where he has positions as the associate fellowship program director and the primary investigator for the Uterine Transplant Trial at Cleveland Clinic. The Cleveland Clinic has completed 8 uterus transplants, with 6 technical successes and 5 liveborn children to date.

Dr. Richards is on the board of directors for the International Society of Uterus Transplantation and serves on the Committe for Vascular composite allograft for the United States Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.

Dr Richards completed his residency at Mayo Clinic and his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. He resides in Shaker Heights Ohio with his wife and three children.
