Camille Nelson Kotton MD, FIDSA, FAST is the clinical director of the Transplant Infectious Disease and Immunocompromised Host Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. She was chair of The Infectious Disease Community of Practice of The American Society of Transplantation (2012-2018). From 2007-2013, she was the president of The Transplant Infectious Disease Section of The Transplantation Society. Highlights of her time as president include the development of international guidelines on CMV management after solid organ transplant, published in Transplantation (2010, 2013, 2018). She is the first transplant infectious disease specialist to be a councilor of The Transplantation Society (2020). Her clinical interests include vaccinations in transplant candidates and recipients, cytomegalovirus, zoonoses, and travel and tropical medicine in the transplant setting. She is a member of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and is involved in national decisions regarding COVID-19 vaccines.

Peter Schemmer, MD, MBA, FACS was trained in General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery at the University of Heidelberg, Germany as well as at several other renowned institutions in the USA, Canada, Switzerland and Asia. From 2013-2016 he was Vice Chairman of the Dept. of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery in Heidelberg. In November 2016 he was appointed Professor of Surgery, Head of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery, Surgical University Clinic, Medical University of Graz, Austria. He is an academic surgeon and clinical scientist who has devoted himself to both surgical oncology and solid organ transplantation. While he performs general, endocrine, upper and lower GI surgery his special interest is both liver transplantation and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery including minimal invasive approaches. To date he has performed more than 7,100, mostly highly complex, surgical operations. His h-index of 62 reflects his scholarly success with more than 650 publications cited more than 14000 times. He is serving as associated editor, guest editor, and board member of numerous scientific journals, is (honorary) member of various national and international scientific societies and serves as reviewer of projects applying for national and international third-party funds. He was honored with prestigious awards and degrees, i.e. Dr. h. c. (Vilnius University, Lithuania) and Prof. hon. (Zhejiang University, Huzhou Hospital, China).

President of the International Liver Transplant Society in 2021-2022. Research Coordinator within a National Network Research Center in Hepatology, CIBER-EHD, and Coordinator of La Fe University Research Group “Hepatology, Hepatobiliopancreatic surgery and Transplantation”. Interests focused on liver transplantation and viral hepatitis.
