Recurrence of native kidney disease post transplantation is an important cause of graft dysfunction and graft loss. Proper pre-transplant work up and proper patient selection is required for a successful outcome. More and more living and deceased donor transplants are being done in the developing countries. Hence this webinar would help enhance the awareness about pre transplant evaluation to prevent recurrence of kidney disease post-transplant and even if it occurs how to identify it early and provide proper treatment. Case based discussion is the high point of this webinar where nephrology fellow with present the case and the discussion would be by an expert from the developed world and two local experts which would help highlight the different approaches to management.

Germaine Wong is a transplant nephrologist, Director of the Western Renal Service at Westmead Hospital, Professor of Clinical Epidemiology, and NHMRC Leadership Fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia. Her main area of research interests include transplant epidemiology, cancer and chronic kidney disease, social ethics in organ donation and allocation, decision analytical modelling, health economics, population health research, and quality of life studies in patients with kidney transplants.
Completed Nephrology training from Christian Medical College,Vellore.Started the Nephrology dept in Osmania general hospital, Hyderabad, started Hemodialysis and Live related renal transplant.Started the super speciality programmae and trained more than 25 post graduates before retiring as Head of the dept in 2006. Have a teaching experience of more than 40 years. Have conduted state level and national level conferences. Been an examiner in nephrology for various universities in the country. Have been president of Indian Society of Nephrology 2006-2007. Presently am the patron of WIN India.
