Dr. Michelle Long Schoettler, MD, MSc is a clinical and translational researcher and pediatric hematology/oncology physician specializing in complications of blood and marrow transplantation. Based at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, she holds the Dan Amos Junior Faculty Endowed Chair and serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. Her research centers on transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA), endothelial injury, and complement activation in pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation. She is a Principal Investigator on multiple clinical trials and biomarker studies and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Her work has helped shape diagnostic criteria and risk stratification for TA-TMA and she is funded by the NIH and multiple national foundations.
Dr. Schoettler is an active member of multiple international working groups and scientific steering committees and is recognized for advancing evidence-based care in pediatric transplantation.
