John J. Fung, M.D., Ph.D. is the Director of the UChicago Medicine Transplantation Institute. Prior to that, he served as Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Health System Center for Transplantation, and Chief of the Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also an accomplished immunologist. Following his Ph.D. in Immunology in 1980 and M.D. in 1982 from the University of Chicago, he completed his transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Starzl. Dr. Fung served as President of the International Liver Transplantation Society from 1997-1999. He has served on The Transplantation Society council continuously since 2002, as Councilor, Treasurer, and Secretary. His vision for TTS includes outreach to developing countries and enhancing global alliances to improve the outcome and access to transplantation.

Jongwon Ha is Director of Transplantation Center and Professor of Surgery at Seoul National University and Chair of Korean Society for Transplantation. He established and served as the president of the national OPO (Korea Organ Donation Agency). Major clinical work is kidney and pancreas transplantation and related researches such as pharmacogenomics as well as xenotransplantation research on islet transplantation. He was a council member of TTS and ISODP, and now serves as Chair of Membership Committee. As Vice President, he wants to help developing organ donation among developing countries and will be devoted to the growth of TTS.

Peter Stock, MD, PhD, Professor of Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, has long served the transplant community, and remains clinically active in pancreas, liver, and kidney transplantation. He has extensive experience in the surgeon-scientist role, with NIH funding in the areas of cellular transplantation and transplantation in the HIV-infected transplant recipient. Dr. Stock has served: TTS Education Committee (2011-1014); IPITA Councilor (2011-2015); Chair OPTN/UNOS Pancreas Committee (2006-2007), Chair OPTN/UNOS Kidney Committee (2007- 2009), SRTR liaison to UNOS Liver Committee (2012-2014); and President of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (2014-2015). He currently serves on the TTS council and is Chair of the TTS Ethics Committee. As the US James IVth travelling surgical fellow (2000), visits to transplant programs in Australia (Sydney), South Africa (Cape Town), India (Chennai), China (Hong Kong), Korea (Seoul), and UK (Oxford) set the foundation for ongoing relationships that will facilitate moving the agenda of the TTS forward.

Curie Ahn, is a nephrologist from Seoul, Korea with a special interest in transplantation. For the past 20 years, Dr. Ahn has actively advocated deceased organ transplantation in Asia. She has founded the Vitallink along with Korea Society for Transplantation, and lead programs to support deceased organ transplantation capacity building in Mongolia, Myanmar and others. She’s committed to TTS efforts, especially in Women in Transplantation and the DICG. Currently she serves as the Secretary General of Asian Society of Transplantation as well as the President of the Korean Xenotransplantation Association and KOTRY which manages transplant database of Korea.

Vivek Kute, MD, DM Nephrology(Gold Medal), FASN, FRCP(London), is a Professor and Unit Head Nephrology and Transplantation, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center and Dr. H L Trivedi Institute of Transplantation Sciences (IKDRC-ITS), B J Medical College Ahmedabad, India. He is Secretary of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, member of the Scientific Program Committee for the TTS 2020 Seoul, Korea, congress, member of the WHO Task Force Transplantation, member of the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group, and ERAEDTA YNP Board of Advisors. IKDRC-ITS has completed 6100 kidney transplants including 925 deceased donor and 440 kidney exchanges. Dr. Kute’s vision for TTS includes outreach to developing countries and enhancing global alliances to Improve transplant registry outcome and access to transplantation, and to help promote TTS, its Mission and its Ethics in Asia and Globally. Dr. Kute has 150 peer-reviewed publications.

Sunil Shroff, MS FRCS has worked in field of organ transplantation for 30 years. As a trustee of NGO -MOHAN Foundation, he has actively promoted cause of organ donation in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka for 25 years. He is President Elect of 'Indian Society of Organ Transplantation' (ISOT), Past president of SAARC Nephrology, Urology & Transplantation Society that represents 8 south Asian countries. He has published 5 books, 12-Chapters and 110-scientific articles. It will be a honor to serve as a councilor. Professor Haibo Wang, MBBS (SUMS), MSc (UMBC), MPH (Harvard). Professor Wang was trained as physician in China and obtained public health degree at Harvard University. He is a member of the WHO Task Force, Ethic Committee of TTS and a Council Member of DICG. He is the founder and key architect of national organ allocation computer system, which played a crucial role in the reformation on organ donation for China. He actively engaged the international training for the model of organ distribution unique in vast geography.His research focuses on utilizing big data in public policy initiatives. He has published in medical journals including NEJM and BMJ.

Mirela Bušić has provided sustained leadership in development of selfsufficient organ donation and transplantation system in Croatia and has assisted development of transplant systems in the South-East European countries. Croatian transplantation program nowadays represents one of the best performing worldwide transplant systems. Dr. Bušić is a member of WHO Task Force on Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues and a member of international panel of Experts in Qatar Academy for Organ Donation. For her exceptional work being done she was awarded multiple times (Eurotransplant Award 2012; The Transplantation Society Award 2012; President of Croatia Award 2019).

John Forsythe is Medical Director for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation for the U.K. and Honorary Professor in the University of Edinburgh. He served as a Consultant Transplant Surgeon Abdominal Transplantation in Edinburgh for over 25 years. He is Past President of the British Transplantation Society and of the European Society of Transplantation. At this time when nations are tending to look-in on themselves, his vision for TTS is to strongly support the incredible, altruistic act of donation by setting the example of a high level of international cooperation in the field of transplantation as it continues to advance.

Carlos H. Diaz, MD, completed his medical school at University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina. Was nephrology fellow at CEMIC (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and Associated Nephrologist at CHU Lyon, France (1992- 1997). In 1998 started as a Member of Renal and Pancreas Transplantation Program in CEMIC. Currently Head of Nephrology Section, and full Professor of Nephrology CEMIC University Institute. Past President of the Argentinian Transplant Society (2016-2018). He served as local Committee Member for TTS 2022. As LA council, I will dedicate my best effort and deep commitment to strengthen the transplant activities in under developed areas region, as well as work on expansion of the legacy of TTS in the region.

Maria Cristina Ribeiro de Castro is an associated professor of Nephrology, physician and researcher at The Renal Transplantation Unit- São Paulo University, Brazil. Past fellow of the “Hôpital Necker-Université Paris V”. She is Past-President and Councilor of the Brazilian Society of Organ Transplant and current member of the Department of Kidney Transplantation of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology. She is also a past TTS councilor for Latin America and currently, Chair of the Brazilian Chapter of the “WITWomen in Transplantation at TTS”. Her on-going main interests are transplant immunology, quality and biovigilance in transplantation.

Dr. Federico Aucejo is a liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon, and director of the liver cancer program at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. Dr. Aucejo graduated as Medical Doctor at Favaloro Foundation, Buenos Aires, Argentina; trained in General Surgery at Pirovano Hospital, Buenos Aires, Argentina and performed surgical training in Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary surgery at Mount Sinai, New York Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Aucejo is member of multiple scientific societies and published numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Aucejo is focused on liver surgical oncology and has produced impactful outcome research in patients with liver malignancy.

Tambi Jarmi is a Senior Associate Consultant at Mayo Clinic Florida and Director of Pancreas Transplant Program. Dr. Jarmi serves as an Affiliate Associate Professor of Medicine and past Medical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program at University of South Florida. He completed his Nephrology Fellowship and Transplant Fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham under the mentorship of Drs. Anupam Agarwal and Robert Gaston. His research interest is on promoting organ donation and rehabilitating the suboptimal organs through the implementation of Regenerative Medicine. He is a fellow of American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology.

Stuart Knechtle is Professor of Surgery at Duke University and Executive Director of the Duke Transplant Center. Before that he was the Director of Transplantation at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Transplant Division Chief at Emory. He completed transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin with Dr. Folkert Belzer where he became Chief of Liver Transplantation, started the living donor liver transplant program, and became the first Ray D. Owen Professor of Transplantation. He leads NIH-funded translational and clinical research in transplant immunology. A long-term member of TTS, his vision is to enhance outcomes and access to transplantation around the world.

Camille Nelson Kotton is associate professor at Harvard Medical School and the clinical director of Transplant Infectious Disease at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has extensive contributions to TTS, as Past-President of the Transplant Infectious Disease Section of The Transplantation Society, organizing transplant ID meetings, numerous webinars, website development, and guidelines. On behalf of TTS, she led the development of three international guidelines on CMV management in Solid Organ Transplant recipients, and was a senior author on guidelines on Latin America Recipients and Donors. She’s held multiple national roles in transplant related positions, and is an associate editor at Transplantation.

Jayme Locke is the Mark Deierhoi Endowed Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and director of the Comprehensive Transplant Institute. She is a transplant surgeon and health disparities researcher. Her work has influenced transplant policy in the US and abroad, including the US HOPE Act and kidney paired donation in South Africa, and is the recipient of the Association for Clinical & Translational Science Distinguished Investigator Award: Translation into Public Benefit & Policy. She is a founding member and current chair of the TTS Young Members Committee, helping create a platform for young members to participate within TTS.

My name is Seigo Nishida. I was born and raised in Japan. I worked as a transplant surgeon at Jackson Memorial Hospital /University of Miami between 1997 and 2017. I am familiar with liver transplant surgery, and research. I was promoted to Professor of Clinical Surgery in 2009. I served as interim director at liver and GI transplant, UNOS primary surgeon and center representative at University of Miami in 2012. I have been the Chief of liver transplant at Westchester medical center, NY, USA since 2017. I would like to promote transplant surgery for the transplant community and patients.

Dr. Milagros D. Samaniego-Picota is a Transplant Nephrologist with training in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Transplant Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University. She is Medical Director of the Kidney and Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Program at the Henry Ford Transplant Institute and Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University. Millie is known for her expertise in the management of highly sensitized candidates, antibody-mediated rejection and induction and maintenance immunosuppression. She has done collaborative work with Latin American Transplant Programs since 2007. As a member of the TTS Education Committee since 2015, her main goal is to develop educational exchange programs and clinical guidelines to meet the needs in Latin America.

As Professor of Surgery and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, I have dedicated my career to improving the practice, policy, and education of transplantation and mentoring the next generation of clinicians, scientists, and leaders in our field. With >500 peer-reviewed research publications and >1000 invited lectures in >50 countries, I have had the honor of contributing meaningfully to our field and learning about challenges across the world. Leadership experience includes ASTS, ATC, UNOS, and SRTR. As councilor, I pledge to work with governments to improve transplant policy, to help expand transplantation and access to medication in developing countries, to improve transplant provider education worldwide, and to ensure that the next generation is excited and engaged about our field.

Fuad Shihab is Professor of Medicine/Nephrology at University of Utah. He held numerous leadership positions in transplantation locally, nationally and internationally. Most recently, he is past-President of American Foundation of Donation and Transplantation. He chaired various committees for AST, ASN, NKF and UNOS/OPTN, started the AST certified transplant fellowship and organized transplant courses for NKF and ASN. He is well-published, was involved in numerous pivotal clinical trials and is Associate Editor of Clinical Transplantation. He would like to be involved in educational activities in developing countries, improve access to transplantation and work on increasing TTS membership and promoting its mission.
