This webinar will address the complicated issue of consent. The first presentation will discuss questions like: What does it mean to consent to everything in the context of deceased donation? How far can it go? What does it sign away? The second presentation will address the concept of “Consent Fatigue” and how to deal with the burden of consent - both the legal burden framework and the ethical burden framework. The second half of the webinar will feature a panel discussion.

  1. Define the minimum, optimum and maximum amount of information needed for consent requests in deceased donation
  2. Assess strategies to mitigate consent fatigue for requester and consenter
  3. Understand the difference between ethical and legal standards for consent
