ISODP Membership Requirements

A person may become a Member by submitting a completed application along with the necessary documentation.

There are three categories of membership: Full Members, Trainee Members, and Emeritus Members.

  • Full members are physicians, surgeons, scientists, coordinators or other specialists that maintain a specific interest in organ procurement and donation and whom are actively engaged in the science or clinical practice of organ, cell and tissue transplantation and donation (the “Field of Transplantation”).

  • Trainee members shall include individuals enrolled in training programs in the Field of Transplantation and whom are not yet certified to practice in the Field of Transplantation as coordinators. Trainee Members shall also include individuals who have completed such training programs but have not yet qualified as Full Members. No individual may remain a Trainee Member for longer than three years. Trainee Members may not vote or hold office on the Council but Trainee Members may serve on committees.

  • Emeritus members shall be Full Members that have attained the age of 65 years or that have retired from practice in the Field of Transplantation and who have formally requested emeritus membership. Emeritus Members shall not have the right to vote or hold office on the Council but may serve on committees. Emeritus Members shall be exempt from paying annual membership dues.

To apply for a new membership

The membership application is completed online through a step-by-step form. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. For TTS and IXA applications, you must identify the sponsor(s) supporting your submission. TTS applicants are also required to upload additional materials, including a CV and a brief professional profile (a one-paragraph biographical sketch). ISUTx applicants must apply directly through the section website at: www.tts.org/isutx-membership.

You may log out at any time and return later to complete your application from where you left off by signing in with your email address and password in the “Returning Applicants” box. To access your saved application, return to this page and use the login box located in the bottom right corner. You can check the status of your application at any time by logging in with your email and password. Please do not attempt to log in through the main TTS website, as this will not provide access to your application.

After submission, the review process typically takes 4–6 weeks. You will be notified by email once a decision has been made. Please do not submit payment for membership dues until you have been formally accepted.
