Dominique is Associate Professor in Bioethics and Professionalism in the School of Medicine at Deakin University, Australia. She studied Medicine and Arts as undergraduate degrees, with majors in Philosophy and English. She completed a PhD in Applied Ethics at the University of Melbourne in 2011 on the topic of markets in human biological materials. Dominique's bioethics research currently focuses on ethical issues in nephrology and in donation and transplantation of human organs, cells, and tissues. She has co-authored more than 60 journal articles and book chapters and has served as an ethics consultant to the Australian Organ and Tissue Authority, the Qatar Organ Donation Center and the World Health Organization.
Dominique is a member of the ethics task force of the International Society of Nephrology and of the Doha International Academy for Organ Donation, and inaugural chair of the Asia Pacific Bioethics Education Network. She is a former co-chair of the Ethics Committee of The Transplantation Society and of the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group and serves as an Associate Editor for Transplantation.
Ala Ali is a consultant nephrologist and transplant physician in Baghdad, Iraq. He graduated from the University of Babylon and completed internal medicine and nephrology fellowships at Baghdad’s Medical City Hospital. He was awarded a fellowship at the Royal London Hospital, the UK, by the European Renal Association. With transplantation as the main interest, he engaged in the European Society Organ Transplantation (ESOT) educational pathway and earned a UEMS certificate in transplantation medicine.
Ala Ali is the Vice-President of the MESOT, a member of the TTS-Education Committee, and the ISN-Middle East regional board. He engaged in social media through the ISN-Social Media education team and the ESOT Social Media Ambassador program. Currently, he is the chair of the Scientific Committee of the Iraqi Society of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation.
Belén V. Conquero is a journalist, specialist in Health and Science. Master in Corporate Reputation. She joined Organización Nacional de Trasplante (ONT) in January 2020, after 10 years as health editor at the national newspaper La Razón (www.larazon.es). ONT is the Spanish national authority responsible for the supervision, coordination and organization of the donation and clinical use of organs, tissues and cells.
She is responsible for the entire Communication, Reputation and Digital Strategy area. Communication is an essential part of the well-known “Spanish Model” in organ donation and transplantation. This good relationship with journalists (national and international), as well as the alliances that ONT has created with other stakeholders (patients, scientific societies, media companies, etc.) has contributed in creating a citizen awareness that is very favorable to organ donation. 86% of Spaniards say yes to organ donation.
Farrah Raza is a Stipendiary Lecturer in Public Law at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD from King's College London (KCL), which was fully funded by the Centre of European Law at KCL. Farrah was awarded the Minerva Fast Track Fellowship in January 2020. She leads the Minerva Research Group entitled The Ethics of Exchange: the Regulation of Organ Donation and Transplantation at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Department of Law and Anthropology, in Halle (Saale), Germany, since September 2020.
Dr. Mythri Shankar, MBBS, MD, DNB (Nephrology) is an Assistant Professor at Institute of Nephro-urology, Bangalore, India. She is also the Associate program director of Nephrology social media collective and Glomcon fellowship instructor.She has been the Secretary Women in Nephrology India - Karnataka chapter. She was won many prestigious awards such as Dr.HL Trivedi Gold medal in DNB Nephrology (2017), SVIMS best nephrology thesis award (2018), CJASN best visual abstract award (2021), and NephJC founders award (2022). She currently member of ISN education, ISN social media team, ISN young, Kireports VA editorial board, Kidney medicine VA editorial board, Glomcon pubs editorial board, Indian society of nephrology social media committee, Indian Journal of Transplantation VA editorial board. She also represents India in the ISN South Asia Regional board. She has more than 60 national and international publications and is the Principal investigator for various ongoing research projects.
