Se presenta la experienia en insuficiencia hepática aguda, por sus siglas en inglés ALF (acute liver failure) del equipo de Trasplante hepático del H. Garrahan en 160 pacientes trasplantados, desde el año 1992 a la fecha. Se realiza una revisión de las definiciones, epidemiología, criterios de diagnóstico y las distintas modalidades de tratamiento. Se relata la experiencia de nuestro país en esta patología luego de la vacunación universal contra el HAV.
We report our experience in ALF (acute liver failure) from the Liver Transplantation service of H. Garrahan, since 1992 to date, in 160 patients transplanted. A review of definitions, epidemiology, diagnostic criteria and treatment modalities is exposed. It describes the experience of our country in this disease after universal immunization against HAV.
