Overview:
Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is an inflammatory reaction with high morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing intestinal transplantation or suffering from intestinal diseases. Therefore, establishing strategies to mitigate IRI are major objectives in surgical fields including transplantation. Ischemic preconditioning appears as a promising treatment able to decrease IIR. For this reason it is the object of our study.
