With over 30,000 human genomes estimated to be sequenced this year, now is the time to apply the whole genome sequencing technology into clinics. The utility of these genomes in a clinical setting remains controversial. Dr. Chen will present on his work on the first medical analysis of a patient presenting with a whole genome sequence, recently featured last year in the Lancet1, and will discuss how whole genome sequencing could revolutionize research and clinical care.
