This issue contains a large number of COVID-19 Vaccine experiences and helps piece together the reasons for poor protection of transplant patients and more importantly what we can do about it. But this is not the only issue of importance this month since there are data on other infections (adenovirus), and data on alternative preservation strategies. A provocative article on liver transplant unit size is accompanied by a useful commentary. As a precursor to a future series examining the resurgence of xenotransplantation we look back to the last 40 years of xeno research.

eHealth Interventions for Solid Organ Transplant Recipients: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials #TBT
Lack of support for self-management may contribute to adverse health outcomes. eHealth has the potential to support self-management, but evidence in solid organ transplantation remains unclear. This review aims to evaluate the benefits and harms of eHealth interventions to support self-management in solid organ transplant recipients.Unusual Presentation of Disseminated Mycobacterium kansasii Infection in Renal Transplant Recipients and Rapid Diagnosis Using Plasma Microbial Cell-free DNA Next-generation Sequencing#OpenAccess #TransplantTwitter
The low incidence of MK in SOT and time-consuming traditional mycobacterial cultures make it particularly challenging to diagnose this infection in a timely manner. In this case series, we report 2 unusual presentations of disseminated MK infection in kidney transplant recipients that were diagnosed rapidly by Karius, a plasma-based microbial cell-free DNA(mcfDNA) next-generation sequencing (NGS) test.Take a few minutes to look over our program to start planning your trip to Argentina!
