Overview

Children with intestinal failure and transplant have complicated past medical histories and complex care needs that can put barriers and limitations in the frequency and volume of physical activity they can participate in. The role for physical activity in intestinal failure and transplantation is critical and reviewing and defining the impact of decreased physical activity and opportunities as a community to elevate its importance will be discussed during this webinar.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define and review sarcopenia in the adult transplant population
  2. Discuss the importance of physical activity in intestinal failure/transplantation
  3. Review and discuss physical activity guidelines in pediatric intestinal failure and transplantation
  4. Discuss the challenges in clinical care to implementation of physical activity and rehabilitation interventions for children with intestinal failure and transplantation
