IPTA Outreach Fellowship 2024
The IPTA Outreach Committee is delighted to announce the winners of its 2024 Outreach Fellowship. All are pediatric transplant focused and working within the framework of the Declaration of Istanbul. We wish them the best of luck in their endeavours! The winning applications are as follows:
Dr. Rustam Yuldashev
Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Dr. Yuldashev will be undertaking training related to advanced pediatric liver transplantation surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Superina, to be able to develop the support of Uzbekistan’s own pediatric liver transplant program.
Dr. Thozama Siyotula
Cape Town, South Africa
Dr. Siyotula will learn pediatric liver and kidney transplant surgical skills under the guidance and support of Dr. Cortes-Cerisuelo, which will enable her to help develop these skills at her own hospital centre in South Africa.
For the first time, a third Fellowship was offered, which focused on using experiences gained to help a more underserved region of the same country.
Dr. Nayan Chaudhari
Maharashtra, India
Dr. Chaudhari will gain experience with Dr. Vala at the renowned IKDRC institute to help develop an adolescent renal transplant program in her own hospital in Maharashtra.
