IPTA Outreach Fellowship 2025

Greetings from the IPTA Outreach Committee! We are delighted to begin the new year by announcing the opening of applications for 2 IPTA Outreach Fellowship positions!

Thesese competitive fellowship grants offer early career physicians, surgeons, allied health or nursing professionals from low or low middle income countries financial support (up to $5000 USD per fellowship position) to spend up to 3 months at a supporting transplant centre to gain new skills.

Anticipated Benefits for the Outreach Fellowship Training:

  • Learn a new clinical or surgical skill or patient service, or a laboratory technique not available in your home country or institution
  • Build capacity to improve pediatric transplant services provided at your centre
  • Potential opportunities to showcase your accomplishments at an IPTA Congress
  • Guidance on writing a paper for publication in the Global Forum section in Pediatric Transplantation, IPTA’s official journal

How to Apply

  • Applicants should be members of IPTA. Their institutions should also be signed up to the Declaration of Istanbul.
  • We encourage applicants to think about a mentor that they would like to pair with, and to approach that mentor themselves in advance.
  • Applicants and their mentors must fill out the brief application form completely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please click here www.surveymonkey.com/r/SN96XS8 to complete the application.
  • If you would like to apply but are in need of a mentor, please reach out to Katie Tait at katie.tait@tts.org and we will try to pair you with a potential mentor.
  • Completed applications must be submitted by the deadline of April 30th 2025, and will be reviewed and scored by the committee. Successful fellowship candidates will be informed via email by May 15th, 2025.

The IPTA Outreach Committee runs 2 Outreach Initiatives – one for individual Fellows (Outreach Fellowship), and one which pairs faculty of paediatric transplant centres (Outreach Program). The Outreach Program will be opening for applications in April 2025.

We welcome hearing from those who are interested in becoming mentors for the Fellowship or being the key liaison for a supporting centre as part of the Program.
